For business owners
Straight answers to the questions owners ask on the phone. If yours is not here, call or text Kyle at 613-401-5671.
What does it do?
When someone asks ChatGPT, Claude or Google's assistant to book a haircut, a plumber or a physio in your town, the assistant can now find you, see your open times and book the customer into the calendar you already use. The booking lands in Square Appointments or Google Calendar like any other appointment, with a note that an assistant made it.
What do I have to do?
- Click one "Connect with Square" button and approve it on Square's own screen. About five minutes. No Square? A Google Calendar works too, and we can set up a business with no software at all.
- Tell us which services to offer and whether you want to confirm each booking first. Most start that way.
- Optionally, paste a small booking and quote form on your own website. We do it for you if you like.
After that there is nothing new to manage. Bookings show up where they always did.
What does it cost?
Nothing during the pilot. Setup is free and the first five local businesses get two months free in exchange for honest feedback. If you keep it after that, it is a flat monthly fee billed through Square, month to month. You will know by then whether it brought you anything.
There are no per-lead fees and no per-booking fees, ever. For comparison, beauty marketplaces take 20 to 35 percent of a new client's first visit, and lead sites charge for every lead whether it books or not.
What can it see?
Only what you approve on Square's permission screen: your services, your open times, and the ability to create and cancel the bookings it made. It cannot see your other appointments, your money, your card data or your customer list. Customers give one name and one contact method, and nothing else.
Can I approve each booking first?
Yes. In request mode every booking waits on a private page for your one-tap confirm or decline, with an optional note to the customer. Instant mode writes confirmed bookings straight into your calendar. You can switch between the two any time.
What will customers see?
The assistant shows them your business name, the service, the time and the price basis, and has to get a clear yes before it books. It cannot book on a guess. See the full customer view.
What if someone books a time I cannot do?
The assistant only offers times that are open in your calendar right then. If two people go for the same slot, the second one is told it is gone. In request mode you can decline anything with a note, and the slot frees up.
How do I pause it or switch it off?
Pause it from your private dashboard, which you get when you join. Or revoke Slotrobin in your Square account settings. Either one stops new bookings at once. Nothing else changes in Square.
Does anyone actually book through AI assistants yet?
Not many, and we say so. It is early. The point of setting up now is that it is free, it takes fifteen minutes, and you see every request that comes in. When the assistants start sending people, you are already bookable and your competitors are not.
Who is behind it?
Kyle Clouthier, Clouthier Simulation Labs, Petawawa, Ontario. One person, who answers the phone. Slotrobin is independent and not affiliated with Square, OpenAI, Anthropic or Google.
